CarlĖs Family and Friends

Carl belongs to a family with a mother whose name is Sarah, a father whose name is Stephen, and a little girl whose name is Madeleine. They have a good time together, go on trips and vacations, and celebrate Christmas, birthdays, and other holidays together. Madeleine has a grandmother and grandfather whom she sees often, and there are a number of aunts, uncles and friends of her motherĖs and fatherĖs who visit often and play with Carl and Madeleine. CarlĖs main job is to guard the family, particularly Madeleine. Carl loves his whole family, but he and Madeleine are special friends. They spend most of their time together and love each other very much. Carl has a number of friends in his neighborhood. His best dog friend is an Irish terrier named Paddy. Paddy had his own book entitled PaddyĖs Payday , and you can see him in CarlĖs books Ō he is the furry red dog who often joins Carl and Madeleine on their adventures. There is also a wise old weimaraner named Smoky who lives down the block: Carl and Paddy both respect Smoky. Carl is also good friends with the lady who runs the bakery in their neighborhood (look in Follow Carl for a picture of her) and the man who owns the toy store. Carl is not really supposed to wander around the neighborhood, but he has been known to do it, and since he is always polite, and very smart and responsible, nobody seems to mind.
